Located at Dutiana Vieja, the Antonio Machado Institute is far more than a secondary educational centre and a living symbol of Spanish culture. The old Colegio de la Compañía de Jesús, this building with an impressive Baroque façade has been a witness to Soria's intellectual history and was the place where poet Antonio Machado gave his French classes between 1907 and 1912.

The building that houses the institute is an architectural jewel that combines Jesuit sobriety with monumental elements that define the Sorian urban landscape.
