The Natural Park of the Gobos River Canyon is a privileged ecosystem where the imposing limestone walls protect a rich fauna, highlighting one of the most important lionado vulture colonies on the peninsula. The park is famous not only for its geological and biological value but also for the aura of mystery surrounding the Hermitage of San Bartolomé, situated at a key point of the journey.
Unjustifiable at the Visit
The park offers corners of a unique natural and architectural beauty that you cannot miss:
Hermitage of San Bartolomé: A 13th-century jewel with strong temperary links. Its location, in a great place surrounded by light lights, creates a magic atmosphere. Visitors highlight: & quot; A spectacular place to go with family or alone and enjoy peace and views. The hermitage is an architectural wonder in an unbeatable environment.
Cueva Grande: Located just after the hermitage, this huge natural cavity allows you to explore Karsh formations and offers a unique photo perspective of the temple.
Galiana Viewer: The highest point accessible by road close to Uno, from where you can see the magnitude of the canyon and the flight of the rapes.
Seven Eyes: The bridge that marks half of the canyon's path, an ideal place for those looking for a longer and more quiet walk.
Roads and Recommended Activities
The park's network of trails allows to adapt the visit to different difficulties:
Senda del Río: The most popular route. The stretch from Valdecea's parking lot to the Hermitage (about 1 km) is flat and accessible to all. The complete route links Uzero with Hontoria del pinar (25 km).
Senda de las Gullurías: A 9 km circular route from the Casa del Parque at UnO and offers air views of the canyon before descend to the area of the hermitage.
Bird Observation: The rocky cuts are home to true eagles, tights and hundreds of leaked vultures, easily visible throughout the course.
Practical Tips
To fully enjoy the experience, it's important to note:
Access and Parking: The main entrance is by Uzero. In high season, parks closest to the hermitage (Cueva fria and Valdecea) have regulated access and a cost per vehicle.
Equipment: It's vital to wear comfortable hiking shoes, sufficient water (there's no potable sources inside) and solar protection.
Respect for the environment: Since it's a protected space, it's prohibited to get out of marked paths, to collect plants or to disturb fauna.
To visit the Gobos River Canyon is far more than a walk through the countryside and an immersion into a landscape where time appears to have stopped between sacred stones and sky dominated by rapes. < / p > < / Section >
