Known internationally for harboring the Church of St. Martin de Tours (eleventh century), the temple is considered to be one of the perfect prototypes of pure Romanesque architecture in Europe, with its balanced proportions, cylindrical towers and its collection of more than 300 carved canniks. In addition to its Jacobeo legacy, the town stands at the banks of the landfill and engineering landmark of the Canal de Castilla, where its iconic play of four Unifilar locks remains. A tourist crossing from this medieval villa connects the traveller with the majestic north palentine tipple, entering the Fountain of Carrionas and visiting the true Alpine village of Cardamas de Arriba. < / p > < / Section >
