The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela isn't just an architectural monument. It's the spiritual epicentre of Europe and the milestone that marks the end of the different routes of the Way of Santiago. For the pilgrim, crossing the Portico de la Gloria represents the culmination of a unique physical and spiritual journey.
Unjustifiable Ritual for Pilgrim
Upon arrival at the Basilica, there are centuries-old traditions that every wander should know about to complete his pilgrimage:
The Abbey to the Apostle: Access to the St. James's shrimp to embrace the 13th century effgie.
The Apostolic Cript: Visit to the place where the remains of the Apostle James and his disciples are guarded.
Pilgrim's Mass: Held daily at 12: 00 and 19: 30, where we welcome the walkers who have sealed their Compostel.
The Botafumiro Show: The world's largest censary, flying through the cruise at solemn and upon request.
Visiting Tips for Travellers
If you come with your backpack, remember that you are not allowed to get into the Cathedral with big backpacks or stick for safety and maintenance reasons. There are official slogans in the vicinity (Rúa das Reels) where you can leave your pilgrim team before entering the Plaza del Obradiro. < / p > < / Section >
