The most old human fossils have been found in caves such as the Elephant Sima and the Great Dolina, including the definition of the previous Homo species (with more than 850,000 years old). The tour guided by the Trinchera del Ferrocarril is perfectly complemented with the Museum of Human Evolution (MEH) in Burgos capital. Also, by its strategic location, visitors can extend their journey by exploring the alpine biodiversity of the nearby Sierra de la Demanda or by admiring the river modeling of the spectacular Ebro Canyon.
