The Soul of Soria: A National Heritage Festival
The San Juan Festival in Soria is one of Spain's most unique cultural gems. Organized by 12 local neighborhoods called "Cuadrillas," this ancestral rite transforms the city every June into a vibrant display of community, wine, and ancient bullfighting traditions.
The 5 Days of San Juan
- Thursday "La Saca": Thousands gather to watch the bulls being brought from the Valonsadero mountains to the bullring.
- Saturday "Agés": Lively public auctions of bull meat in every neighborhood—a tradition filled with humor and local wine.
- Sunday "Calderas": The grand gala day, featuring parades of decorated cauldrons and stunning traditional costumes.
